Michael Rapaport's six-figure lawsuit
Those were his good thing as you know with big money comes big money problem. This has also been through some problems which include money in it. So, let's talk about it.
In 2018 Michael filed a lawsuit against his partner Barstool Sports. Michael took Barstool Sports Inc., Barstool founder David Portnoy, and other persons including Adam Smith, Kevin Clancy and Eric Nathan to federal court in New York saying he owed some money from them through some business he had done with them.
The suit says that in 2017 Rapaport and Barstool had done an agreement in which Barstool would “host, market and oversee sales” for the podcast “I Am Rapaport.” Barstool agreed that Rapaport would deliver a daily radio show and Barstool would pay Rapaport $600K for his videos and podcasts and $375,000 for “an in-development daily radio show” on Barstool.
However, the main problem started when the lawsuit said that Barstool channel was launched in January 2018 and Barstool refused to include Rapaport’s daily radio show on its channel and failed to pay Rapaport the $375,000 it had agreed to.
And also, the suit says that of the $600,000 guaranteed only $200,000 has been paid so far. Barstool has failed to pay 60 percent of the net merchandise revenue as called for in the Talent Agreement.
