Kellye Nakahara, also known as Kellye Nakahara Wallett is an Asian-American actress, painter, and singer. She is well-known for playing Nurse Kellye in CBS comedy, M*A*S*H.

The 68-year-old actress was born in Oahu, Hawaii, USA. She is half Asian and half Hawaiian. She is alumni of Kalani High School of Honolulu, Hawaii.

The artist, Nakahara, moved from Hawaii to San Francisco to pursue a career in watercolor painting. She sold her watercolor painting of the San Francisco city through the well known Polk Gallery

In 1968, Nakahara married David Wallett and moved to Los Angeles. After moving to California, she started her acting career.

Wallett participated as the Nurse Kellye in CBS show, M*A*S*H. The show became popular and aired for 11 years. The final episode of the show aired on January 1983, which was viewed by over 25 million people.

She also played minor roles in movies such as Clue (1985), 3 Ninjas Kick Back (1994), she is having a baby (1988). 

She also appeared in television series like Matt Houston, At Ease, Lottery!, and so on.

A celebrated artist, Wallett, launched Kellye Wallett Studio on June 19, 1998, with her business partner, Wendy Anderson.

Her paintings mostly feature cities and their landmark sites. In her collection of paintings “The Gardens of Pasadena," she highlighted many historical landmarks, gardens, and neighborhoods present in the city. 

The most significant paintings from the collection are given to the City of Pasadena on an indefinite loan and are available at The Pasadena City Hall.

In 2001, Sen Jack Scott chose her painting “Koi” to represent his district and showcased it at the State Capitol.

Wallett has served her current city, Pasadena, in many roles. She worked as the mayor’s appointee on the Pasadena Arts and Culture Commission for eight years. 

She was a member of East West Players’ Acquisition Committee for its transition from a 99-seat theater to a 240-seat Equity theater.

She also supports local artists for their growth. She serves as the artistic director of the local choral group, Towne Singers. She has contracts with the California Philharmonic for various events.

Nakahara has two children, a daughter, Nalani Wallett, and Son, William Wallett. Both of her children are married and have kids too. Nalani has twins David and William with husband, Lee. William Wallett has sons Max and Grayson with wife, Tasha.

She is battling with peritoneal cancer since July 2018 and has finished three chemotherapy. During this difficulty, her fans provided great support by continuously sending her cards and wishes for recovery. She provided an update on her health and thanked her fans by posting an image on Facebook.

The artist, Nakahara, was selected to paint the Maguire Gardens. In 2008, she painted Christmas ornament for the official White House Christmas tree on the request of Rep, Adam Schiff.
