Greg Wyshynski was born 20th March, 1977 in Matawan, New Jersey. he has graduated from University of Maryland's College of Journalism, USA in 1999. He is currently residing in New York city with his fiance Rubie Edmondson and a dog named sneakers.

Career

Greg Wyshynski commenced his career in Journalism and writing by working for 'The Connection' Newspaper of Northen Virginia and spent nearly a decade, rising from his post as a writer to the executive sports editor in the newspaper. During his decade of dedication, he was indulged into other sports writing, serving as an editor for SportsFan Magazine and writing a weekly syndicated sports column, "The Jester’s Quart."  He signed on with AOL Sports’ FanHouse as an NHL writer in 2006. He also wrote the weekly "NHL Closer" for Deadspin under editor Will Leitch. After that he left 'The Connection' and joined YAhoo! sports.

He was hired by Yahoo! sports' in 2008 and created Yahoo! sports' popular hockey blog, Puck Daddy. His blog blended humor with hard news and features to create a unique voice in sports journalism. Sooner Puck Daddy became the centre place for instant analysis of breaking news, both serious and frivolous. 

He was also a member of the Professional Hockey Writers Association and he also became the first blogger ever named to The Hockey News “100 People of Power and Influence” list, making that special issue several more times. He has enclosed Stanley Cup Finals, NHL All-Star Games, NHL Drafts, Winter Classics, outdoor games and numbers of other hockey events. He worked on site for Yahoo! Sports for the last three Olympics, including as a general columnist for the 2012 London Games.

He disclosed his resignation from Yahoo! sports' on September 29, 2017 and that he was halting Puck Daddy, leaving it to other writers of the site. it was subsequently disclosed that he would join ESPN as an NHL analyst and reporter for ESPN.com. He is currently Working for ESPN.

Greg Wyshynski has his two books published: the first one is '"Glow Pucks & 10-Cent            Beer: The 101 Worst Ideas in Sports History", published in April 2006 by Taylor Trade            and the second is "Take Your Eye Off the Puck", published in November 2015 by Triumph      Books.
